Printed and manuscript music. Mostly popular or jazz arrangements, reorchestrations, or suites based on Weill's stage music which do not include texts. Includes such well-known works as Wilhelm Brückner-Rüggeberg's suite based of Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny; Stanley Silverman's Variations on a theme of Kurt Weill; Stefan Frenkel's violin-piano version of music from Die Dreigroschenoper; several arrangements by Robert Russell Bennett; Antony Tudor's selections from Die Dreigroschenoper used for his ballet Judgment of Paris; as well as a number of jazz arrangements from the late 1920's in Germany and the 1940's in the U.S. This series also includes several arrangements of various numbers (or suites from complete shows) for brass ensemble or brass band, including a suite from Die Dreigroschenoper arranged for twelve saxophones, and a brass band arrangement of the Moritat for the Royal Air Force.

As a result of the success of his Broadway musical Lady in the dark in 1941, German-born composer Kurt Weill and his wife, the singing actress Lotte Lenya, were able to buy "Brook House," in Rockland County, New York, moving there during their sixth year in the United States.
